Datesfreedom starts the road to the 2026 RRP Makeover

Well that's a wrap on the 2026 RRP Thoroughbred Makeover for Stall 13's Datesfreedom. And what a successful Makeover it was! In short, Dates came out like his usual "been there, done that" self and showed off his warhorse class. Sure he had rails, but nothing fazed him - not the atmosphere, the ditch, the bank, the stadium course... nothing (except maybe the industrial jackhammer)...

He was the lead-off horse for eventing and he set a nice bar for the others. He laid down a respectable dressage test, enjoyed the full track and gallop in the combined stadium / xc and was nothing short of admirable. By the time we got to stadium the next day, he had a seriously good home interested. As we took a few rails, my concern was not with him, but with the worry that the home might not be able to see through the faults on day 3 of showing (day 1 schooling, day 2 eventing, day 3 show jumping) after a long haul from NY. NOPE!

That home brushed off the rails, focusing on his soundness, ridability and great brain.

And just like that, the Makeover worked its magic and Dates hopped on a trailer bound for the west and eventually a home with an excellent riding amateur aided by their very hands-on 5* trainer in Idaho. He has since arrived happy and healthy in Colorado and is awaiting the ride north to Idaho.

There's so much more of his story to be told - but now that's in the hands of his very capable team. So from me, Dates, and all of Stall 13 - thank you guys for the amazing support since he bounced from track to auction pipeline last winter. What a wild ride. And what a happy ending.

Good boy, Dates. I'll miss you kiddo.
